Urban Landscapes

While driven by the spontaneity of street photography, my attention is rarely drawn by what makes streets busy.

Instead, I am attracted by what renders them calm: structure, perspective, and ordinary every-day scenes.

While people and objects are welcome to attract the eye or set an accent, they are usually set in a context of architecture and surrounding urban landscape. Architecture and landscape that guide our movements and the way we project ourselves into urban life. Rendering this structure visible is what I aim for, mostly in black & white, from unusual perspectives, distilling its contrasts, volumes and lines.
